My Unforgettable Journey: Exhibiting at the Cannes Biennale with PAKS Gallery

I am thrilled to share the incredible experience of showcasing my artwork at the prestigious Cannes Biennale during the Cannes Film Festival with PAKS Gallery. It was an honour to be the only Irish artist representing Ireland at this esteemed event. The exhibition ran from the 17th to the 19th of May in the luxurious Juliana Cannes hotel, and it was truly a surreal and empowering journey.

Day 1: From Nice to Cannes

Our journey began in Nice, where we embarked on an exciting trip to Cannes for the opening night of the exhibition. The anticipation and excitement were palpable as we travelled along the picturesque coastline, eagerly awaiting the moment when we would arrive at the Juliana Cannes hotel. The opening night was a spectacular event, bringing together talented artists from around the world.

Showcasing the Emily Painting

I had the privilege of showcasing the Emily painting, a piece that had previously been exhibited at the Venice Biennale. This painting holds a special place in my heart, not only for its empowering message but also for its captivating pastel colour scheme. The Emily painting garnered a lot of attention and admiration from attendees, resonating with many for its powerful depiction and aesthetic appeal.

A Highlight: The Red Steps Photoshoot

One of the most surreal experiences of the Cannes Biennale was our photoshoot on the iconic red steps, at the Carlton, and on the harbour. It was an exhilarating moment, surrounded by the glamour and prestige of the Cannes Film Festival. The attention we received was overwhelming, with many people assuming we were famous. It was a true testament to the magic and allure of the event.

Reflecting on the Experience

Representing Ireland at the Cannes Biennale was a profound honour and a testament to the dedication and passion I have for my art. The opportunity to connect with fellow artists from around the world and to share the empowering message of the Emily painting was incredibly fulfilling. The experience of standing on the red steps, amidst the glitz and glamour of the Cannes Film Festival, was a dream come true.

Conclusion

My journey at the Cannes Biennale with PAKS Gallery was an unforgettable adventure, filled with surreal moments and cherished memories. It was a privilege to showcase my artwork on such a prestigious platform and to represent Ireland on the global art stage. The experience has left me inspired and motivated to continue creating art that empowers and resonates with people worldwide. Thank you to everyone who supported me on this incredible journey – I can't wait to see where the next adventure takes us!
