About
I make emotionally raw acrylic paintings that navigate the shifting, uncertain terrain of personal identity — work that is deeply autobiographical but lands as universal.
I'm an Irish painter working in acrylics, based in Limerick. My practice sits at the intersection of the figurative and the deeply personal. Originally known for my exploration of the female form — work that earned me international exhibition credits including shows at the Venice Biennale, the Cannes Film Festival, and the Carrousel du Louvre during Art Basel Paris — I'm now engaged in a more inward conversation: paintings that attempt to map the uncertain, shifting terrain of identity and self.
My mark-making sits between control and release. Neither purely gestural nor rigidly composed, the work holds tension — the kind that comes from trying to be honest about something that resists easy articulation. The result is painting that feels both private and universal; work that begins with autobiography and arrives somewhere the viewer can enter.
My work has been featured by BBC News, RTE, the Irish Independent, The Business Post, Stellar Magazine, and the Irish Times group. I was awarded Arts Council funding for my solo exhibition, the Intimacy Collection, and have exhibited internationally across Europe. I'm represented by Gallery One Fine Art & Framing in the UK, and my work is available on Saatchi Art.
I paint because I have to. Because there are things that can't be said any other way.
